Desert Control and Barren Hill Control

Desert Solar Power Plant: As a big country of desertification, the task of combating desertification in China is arduous. According to the target task of “National Plant of Desert Prevention and Control 2011-2020”, by 2020, desertification land control will be completed by 20 million hectares, more than half of the country’s desertification land will be dealt with, ecological condition of the desertification area will be further improved. By 2020, total investment of desert prevention and control in the Western Region of China will be over 200 billion yuan. The investment in Three-North Shelter Forest Program and Beijing-Tianjin Sandstorm Source Control will be 188 billion yuan.

Barren Hill Solar Power Plant: Large area of barren hills is not suitable for crop growth, which caused local economic development lag. The construction of Barren hill solar power plant will provide electricity support for such areas and prevent loss of water. Digging wells for irrigation in low-lying place solves the problem of lack of water.
